City Tours with Specialties from Baden

Our morning tour starts with a small breakfast and then we'll visit the Freiburg Münster. With a drink in hand, we can really let the atmosphere of this "most beautiful church spire in Christendom" overwhelm us. Then we'll enjoy some delights of the regional cuisine of our state of Baden, and we wouldn't want to miss out on some of the high-proof alcoholic specialties. And just so we don't forget that our French brother Alsace is so close, there are also some tasty bits from there. 

And let's not skip the Badisch Trio! It would be best to have good walking shoes, because the Old City is paved with cobblestones. We won't end exactly at our starting point, but within view of the Freiburg Münster. Our culinary tours with food and beverages from Baden are always something special.

From our meeting point, we will jump into storytelling and history , then we'll head for the Münster Square and look at the "most beautiful church spire in Christendom," as described by Jacob Burckhardt, an art historian from Switzerland. We'll start our culinary delights with a very special Black Forest Cherry Cake and a sparkling drink. Then, glass in hand, we have the chance to let the Münster do its magic. Of course, we'll enter it as well. Afterwards we can then try some more regional delicacies, including a “Schnaps”, made from Black Forest wild cherries.

Keeping in mind the proximity to Alsace, France, we may get some surprises from there, as well. 
At the end of the tour we'll enjoy a panoramic view of the city from up high. Make sure you have good walking shoes, since Freiburg has plenty of cobblestone streets. Afterwards we'll enjoy some specialties from the Badisch cuisine, not missing out on a “schnapps” from the region. We'll visit cozy pubs and try their fine beers.

And we can't forget how close we are to Alsace — be ready for a surprise. We'll stroll through the Old City and check out various localities and the Augustiner Square. After we met in the "new center" of the city and have already received the first information, it starts with a small wine tasting. Badischer wine is in the foreground. We stroll past the town halls and walk over the "lange Gass" and through the Martinstor for the first tasting. Much worth knowing from the history of Freiburg is communicated. After the first meal we drink a cocktail - with or without alcohol - your decision. The "oldest inn in Germany" is visited and we experience pure history in dosed quantities.

We pass through the Gerberau - the industrial area of the Middle Ages. Why we have "Bächle" in Freiburg, it must be clarified as well. The Münsterplatz may not be missing on our tour. At the end of the whole thing is still the "icing on the cake".
